Tailbone Pain When Sitting? 3 Simple Steps to Stop Your Tailbone Pain
Many of us spend way too much time sitting in an office chair, sitting an out car or even just slouching on our sofa at home. Poor posture while sitting is a leading cause of back pain and especially tailbone pain and lower back pain.
These are the 3 simple steps to stop tailbone pain when sitting:
1. Scoot All The Way Back
Make sure to scoot all the way back when you are sitting on your chair or in your car. Notice that you sit straight. Remind yourself to do that with a sticky note or any other visual reminder.
2. Check Your Seat
Next, check out your seat. If you can’t adjust your chair so you can have contact between your lower back and the seat’s back support – It’s time to change your chair.
If your seat forces your head to lean forward – Shop for a new chair. Look for a chair that has an arched seat back to provide you with good posture.
3. What to Do if You Can’t Afford a New Chair
If a new chair is too expensive right now, or if you are “stuck” with the chair that you have in your car, consider using a good back support cushion. It doesn’t cost muck and it can help you stop tailbone pain when sitting – almost immediately. It’s as simple as that!
